Commander C. Brandon Summerville has consistently been a leading figure in Cybersecurity and Communication Systems within the United States Navy for 18 years. Since June 2023, he has served as the Cybersecurity Acquisition Program Manager at NAVWAR in San Diego, CA, leading the charge in fortifying secure communication systems for the Navy's Large Unmanned Surface Vessel (LUSV) program. Equipped with a Master's Degree in System, Networking, and LAN/WAN Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, he strategically leverages multiple cybersecurity certifications to ensure the highest standards of cyber protection and compliance for the Navy’s LUSV program.
Before assuming this role, Commander Summerville held the esteemed position of Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Communications and Information Systems (N6) at the US Third Fleet. There, he led a dedicated team of 55 military and civilian personnel, orchestrating flawless C4I readiness and operations for the fleet's maritime units. His multifaceted experience within the Department of Defense, encompassing military intelligence, space systems, and information technology, significantly contributed to strategic and tactical missions across global, joint, and coalition environments.
As a minority scholarship recipient himself, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2005. He earned numerous Meritorious Achievement medals in conflict and humanitarian awards for his contributions to disaster relief missions abroad have punctuated Commander Summerville’s illustrious career. Driven by an unwavering passion for innovation and excellence in the Navy’s C4I warfare area, Brandon exemplifies a steadfast commitment to pushing technological boundaries and nurturing collaboration within this dynamic field.
Notably, he has mentored numerous individuals, guiding them to discover their talents, unlock their potential, and excel in their careers. Set to be promoted to Captain in the fall of 2024, Commander Summerville continues to be a guiding force, shaping the future of cybersecurity and communication systems within the Navy.
